TYLOO CS2 Team Review
A formidable Asian force and TMZ’s main competitor for leadership in the region is TyLoo, an ancient Chinese CS team. Founded more than 10 years ago, they are now reaching the peak of their power — and no one knows yet how high they can rise.
The history of team TYLOO is not linear, but rather resembles the Tibetan ridge in cross-section: every year — a rise in the world HLTV ranking to the top 15, and every year — a fall to the bottom. Why the team, which is the leader in its region, and a virtually invincible opponent at the A-tier level, has never reached the top of the world top — we analyze in this MelBet Pick’em article.
TYLOO History
TyLoo is not the oldest eSports organization in the arena, but it is certainly not young: after all, they have 18 years of history behind them. This club came to the CS2 arena, having seen CS:GO, and the special Asian CS:GO Online, and even CS 1.6 on its way. Over time, the team also had rosters in other games. Today, in addition to TYLOO CSGO, there are also TYLOO LoL and PUBG rosters.
The first match of CS2 TYLOO is lost in the years. It is known that already in 2009 they played in S-tier tournaments: for example, they took third place in World Esports Masters 2009. However, the history of the Chinese dragon is more complicated than it may seem: for example, despite such a quick entry into the global arena, for all 18 years they have never managed to win a world tournament. TyLoo’s best result so far in S-tier is reaching the semi-finals.
TYLOO Founders
Not much is known about the creators of TyLoo. It is reported that it is a family business — a traditional way in China. The key person in the company is Mr.Wang, or Wang Sheng, a Chinese entrepreneur. Today, the club also has co-owners and part-time CEOs, Yan Dongwei and Zen Zhang. The general manager of the TYLOO CSGO team is Hu “CruSad3” Sile, who himself played on the team in 2019.
TYLOO Initial Roster
Probably, even the club itself will not be able to remember what CS2 TYLOO roster played the first matches with in 2007. We present the list of the roster at the time of the mass transition of eSports events to CS:GO — this is the very beginning of 2014. At that time, the TYLOO roster consisted of:
- Liu “captainMo” Ke (joined 2011);
- Luo “KingZ” Likan (joined 2010);
- Huang “HZ” Zhen (joined 2013);
- Wu “DD” Hui (joined 2013);
- Huang “LT” Biaohong (joined 2013).
It is unknown who was the team coach at that time, but we know that, for example, Luo “KingZ” Likan will later take the post of head coach himself, after leaving the active roster, from 2020 to 2022.
TyLoo have been experimenting with their roster throughout their history — because they have never found their ideal combination. Over the past few years, at least 50 different players have played in the CSGO TYLOO roster. 3/4 of them were Chinese, but there were also players from Europe, South America and other Asian countries in TyLoo CS2.
TYLOO Current Roster
TyLoo CS is known for its strange, slightly suspicious approach to the roster: historically, they practiced regular substitutions, with the same players often leaving the team and then returning. The last major reboot was carried out in 2023 — then all the players were replaced with a bought-out roster, previously played by 5yclone and Rare Atom.
However, if it works, it’s not stupid — especially since the current TYLOO CS2 roster (as of August 2025) is a record-breaking success for the team:
- Wang “Mercury” Jingxiang — IGL (joined 2023);
- Sheng “Attacker” Yuanzhang (joined 2014, rejoined 2024);
- Yang “JamYoung” Yi (joined 2023);
- Chen “Moseyuh” Qianhao (joined 2023);
- Ji “Jee” Dongkai (joined 2024).
The core is the same TYLOO new roster from 2023. However, after two substitutions, both newcomer Jee and old-school player Attacker appeared here. What’s interesting is that for Attacker, this was already his 7th time joining the team. But all this is not in vain — he is an extremely talented riffler, and his extensive experience plays a key role in the team.
The current coach of the team is Zhong “zhokiNg” Weijie. He has been in this position since August 2024.
TYLOO Tournament Achievements
The last year for TyLoo CS can clearly be called very successful: at least, this is the third time in their long history that they have entered the HLTV top 20 (the previous ones were in 2017 and 2018). Among the latest victories of the TYLOO CS2 team, it is worth noting:
- 1st place at FISSURE Playground #1 (A-tier, $150,000);
- 1st place at Asian Champions League 2025 (A-tier, $100,000).
The team’s list of achievements also includes:
- 3-4 place at CS:GO Asia Championships 2019 (S-tier, $50,000);
- 3-4 place at Intel Extreme Masters XIII — Sydney, 2018 (S-tier, $20,000).
TyLoo traditionally has no luck with majors — in recent years, they were able to qualify for the main world tournament only twice, in 2021 and 2025, and both times they lost to almost all other CS2 teams participating, remaining in 20-22 place.
The Chinese team also failed to earn a lot of prize money over all the years: their record payouts — $150,000 and $100,000, were received only in 2025. The total amount of prize money for all time does not exceed $2,500,000.
TYLOO Legends
Today’s lineup has brought TyLoo CS to another peak of success. But we will remember the architect of the team’s previous rise — captainMo. It was not for nothing that he chose such a nickname — in addition to the fact that he really held the IGL position, he also had a colossal analytical talent. It was as if he read the opponent, directing his team exactly where it was needed.
In addition, he himself was an excellent Riffler and AWPer. His portfolio includes a victory at China Cup I (2017), 1st place at the Asia Minor Championship in Atlanta 2017 and in Cologne 2016. CaptainMo left TYLOO in 2018, along with another, no less legendary player DD. He has stated several times his desire to end his career, but as of August 2025, the former leader of TyLoo still plays with DD in the local Chinese team Steel Helmet.
TYLOO Upcoming Tournaments
TYLOO next match will take place at FISSURE Playground #2, where they will have to defend their title from last time. Among the big tournaments CS2, they will also attend the CS Asia Championships 2025 and Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2025 this fall. At the last IEM, in Cologne, in June 2025, they lost to 3DMAX, finishing in 17-20 place. However, this year TyLoo CS is constantly improving, so we will soon find out if they will be able to bounce back.
