HEROIC CS2 Review

HEROIC is a high-performance esports company that was founded in Denmark on August 26, 2016. It was later bought by Norwegian Omaken Sports in 2021. The Counter-Strike 2 division is what the organization is best known for today, even though it has a HEROIC Dota 2 team and a PUBG Mobile roster. This makes the outfit a genuine multidisciplinary esports club with top-tier pedigree.

The HEROIC brand is recognized for always performing well in international tournaments. In our MelBet Pick’em review of the HEROIC CS2 team, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the team.

HEROIC History

In August 2016, former players from SK Gaming came together to establish HEROIC under the Danish esports organization RFRSH Entertainment. The club did well at first, and in 2018, they became independent owners under Seranades Global.

In 2021, they were fully acquired by Omaken Sports, which is based in Norway. This change was a professional rebranding that improved infrastructure, sponsorships, and staff.

Over the years, the HEROIC CS:GO team became a well-known powerhouse around the world, achieving deep runs at major events like the playoffs at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, the quarterfinals in Antwerp 2022, and the finals at IEM Rio Major. By 2023, the team had become a legend in professional CS esports.

HEROIC Founders

A group of veteran Danish Counter-Strike players officially founded the team. This included gla1ve (Lukas Rossander), Snappi (Marco Pfeiffer), valde (Valdemar Vangså), Friis (Michael Jørgensen), and MODDII (Andreas Fridh).

These founding players shaped the team’s competitive core. On the business side of things, RFRSH Entertainment, a Danish esports management company, handled operations, marketing, sponsorship deals, and executive leadership.

Joachim “Noobwork” Haraldsen, the founder and CEO of Omaken Sports, bought the club in 2021 and turned it into a top-tier multidisciplinary organization. As CEO, Haraldsen managed the company’s strategic growth, expanded the brand into Dota 2 and mobile games, and secured essential collaborations.

The organization became a global esports brand with top-level infrastructure and a strong international presence thanks to his leadership. The cooperation between the founding players and the executive management set the club up for long-term success.

HEROIC Initial Roster

In August 2016, the team made their first official appearance in competitive CS:GO. The team debuted a lineup that was mostly Danish, and its structure and coordination caught people’s attention immediately.

The first roster featured:

  1. gla1ve (Lukas Rossander) – In-game leader
  2. Friis (Michael Jørgensen) – Rifler
  3. Valde (Valdemar Vangså) – Rifler/Entry
  4. Snappi (Marco Pfeiffer) – Support/Rifler
  5. MODDII (Andreas Fridh) – Rifler

At the time, the team didn’t have a formal coach. Instead, the veteran players worked together to come up with strategies. This group was known for being resilient and disciplined, two things that would define the club’s playstyle for years to come.

They swiftly gained notoriety in the European scene by consistently finishing in the top eight of regional qualifiers and international tier-2 events within a few months. Their early performances set the stage for what would become one of the most organized and tough teams in the HEROIC CS heritage.

HEROIC Current Roster

After a difficult 2024 season, the organization brought in emerging players from all across Europe and the CIS region to refresh its core players. The following is the HEROIC CS2 roster as of June 29, 2025:

The team has already shown promise by coming first in the A-Tier MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2025 tournament, where they beat BIG in the final. People are getting more and more excited about this next chapter in HEROIC CS2.

HEROIC Tournament Achievements

Over the years, CS2 HEROIC has won several important tournaments, proving that it is one of the best teams. Some of the most outstanding tournament victories are:

These performances showed that team HEROIC could play under pressure at the highest levels of CS esports. Their consistent performance in S-tier competitions has made the organization famous around the world.

HEROIC Legends

Several players have become legends as far as HEROIC esports history is concerned:

  • cadiaN (Casper Møller): A longtime IGL who led the team to major victories, including the 1v4 clutch that won ESL Pro League S13 (2021), and guided deep Major runs.
  • gla1ve (Lukas Rossander): The first IGL who set the tone for HEROIC in its early days. He is now better known through Astralis but was very important to HEROIC’s origins.
  • Snappi (Marco Pfeiffer): Core founder who helped the team grow into a major contender in the organization’s early years.

All of these people helped shape the team’s identity and early success in the global CS stage.

HEROIC Upcoming Tournaments

The team is set to play in several vital tournaments CS2 in the coming months, starting with the A-tier BLAST Bounty Fall 2025: Closed Qualifier from August 5th to 10th.

In August, between the 20th and 24th, they’ll compete in the S-Tier Esports World Cup 2025, which has a prize pool of USD 1,250,000, with the 1st winner going home with $500,000.

They’ll then cap off the month with the S-Tier BLAST Open Fall 2025: Closed Qualifier, which will last from August 20th to September 1st. This competition’s prize pool is $70,000.

Despite the stiff competition they face in these tournaments, people have high hopes for these tournaments and HEROIC next match. With this team of promising young players, the expectation is that they won’t have a bad year like they did in 2024.
