MOUZ Dota 2 Team Review

One of Europe’s most renowned clubs and a formidable force in the Counter-Strike scene, MOUZ has been fighting for its place in the sun for almost 25 years. German management isn’t accustomed to accepting losses: when the MOUZ Dota 2 roster began suffering defeat after defeat in the mid-2010s, the team was shut down. It seemed like it would be gone forever.

However, in 2024, the red mouse reappeared in the tournament standings of the legendary MOBA and immediately rose to the top. The return of the MOUZ Esports Dota 2 team is now considered one of the most successful comebacks in the history of team esports. The secret to their success is explored in the new MelBet Pick’em review.

MOUZ History

MOUZ may not be the oldest esports organization in the world, but it’s certainly one of the oldest still active. It was founded in 2002 (as “mousesports”), at the dawn of esports. Over time, the name was shortened, and the number of games expanded (at various times, it has had rosters in 20 games).

However, MOUZ’s policy regarding participation in various disciplines has always been unstable: rosters would emerge and disband—even in CS, the German club’s historically strong point. The first Dota MOUZ lineup existed back in the 2000s. It was then revived in 2011 and disbanded again in 2017. The “mice” returned to the game for the third time in 2024.

MOUZ Founders

Mousesports was born in Berlin in 2002, from an agreement struck in an internet cafe. It united the efforts of a management team and a talented CS:GO roster. The organization quickly grew, becoming one of the largest in Europe within just a few years.

Today, the club remains a giant, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The organization’s CEO is entrepreneur Stefan Wendt (apparently one of the main shareholders). Operational and sporting decisions, such as the re-establishment of Team Mouz Dota 2 in 2024, are made by COO René Lannte.

MOUZ Initial Roster

For almost its entire history, the MOUZ Dota 2 roster has been international — except for a brief period in 2012-2013, when the team was truly all German.

The earliest DotA roster is difficult to reconstruct—it was too long ago. For example, one of the original members, Swedish esports player Kim “Drayich” Larsson, who played in 2007, is now over 43 years old.

MOUZ’s second foray into the arena, in 2011, featured Rexi, DeMeNt, SingSing, Trixi, and twiSta. And their third resurgence saw the following lineup:

  1. Stefan “Ulnit” Gavrila;
  2. Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha;
  3. Nikko “Force” Bilocura;
  4. Ravdan “NARMAN” Narmandakh;
  5. Jonathan “Bengan” Hansson.

It was a combination of a trio of established professionals, previously playing for their own team, “Team Tickles,” and two trialist rookies: Czech Supream^ and Swede Bengan. However, this MOUZ Dota 2 squad failed to achieve much success and was disbanded within its first year.

MOUZ Current Roster

It’s safe to say that MOUZ’s entire plan to return two years ago was a brilliant one. The German club has never shown such excellent results in Dota as they did after a complete rebuild in early 2025. Today, the MOUZ Dota 2 unit consists of:

  1. Remco “Crystallis” Arets;
  2. Yeik Nai “MidOne” Zheng;
  3. Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan;
  4. Daniyal “yamich” Lazebnyy;
  5. Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp (IGL).

All of these players (except Seleri) were signed simultaneously in September 2025. The roster is truly international: two Dutch players, a Malaysian, a Czech, and a Russian. Arets, however, is a stand-in player, having been loaned from Tundra Esports.

The coach is 31-year-old Romanian Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza. He joined MOUZ with the initial Team Tickles roster and is now the only link between the current team and the 2024 MOUZ Dota 2 roster.

After a couple of months of teamwork, this unit rose to fifth place in the world, largely thanks to their victory at PGL Wallachia Season 6 in November 2025, where MOUZ defeated Team Spirit 3-2.

MOUZ Tournament Achievements

Despite their recent rise, MOUZ Dota 2 team has few high-profile victories compared to other top Dota 2 teams:

  • 1st place at PGL Wallachia Season 6, 2025 – Tier 1 ($300,000);
  • 3rd-4th place at BLAST Slam V and VI, 2025 – Tier 1 ($60,000 each);
  • 1st place at RaidCall EMS One Summer Season, 2013 – Tier 1 ($12,000).

Notably, MOUZ Dota 2 received their second-largest cash prize for a rather mediocre result – 9th-16th place at The Kyiv Major 2017. They returned with $62,000 in prize money.

MOUZ Legends

MOUZ esports is inextricably linked with the name of European Dota legend Kuro Salehi “KuroKy” Takhasomi, who has now retired from the game. A German of Iranian descent, he played for mousesports from 2012 to 2013 and led the team to its peak in the 2010s, securing gold at the RaidCall EMS One Summer Season in 2012.

Subsequently, he made a huge impact on the world of competitive Dota, setting numerous records, winning and placing multiple times at TI, and, most notably, as the founder of Nigma Galaxy.

MOUZ Upcoming Tournaments

In the spring of 2026, the MOUZ team will face the ESL One Birmingham 2026, where they qualified. However, the team has slipped somewhat recently, and their 2026 results are worse than last year’s, including at tournaments Dota 2 (for example, their BLAST Slam VI result was only 11th-12th place).

Whether the current roster can replicate PGL Wallachia’s success, or whether the management will once again seek new faces to update the MOUZ Dota 2 lineup, we’ll find out in the near future.

FAQ

MOUZ, as an organization, emerged back in 2002 as a CS 1.5 team. As they grew, they created rosters in many other games, including DotA. The German club’s first appearance in DotA tournaments took place in the late 2000s.

As of March 2026, the MOUZ roster consists of four players: Yeik Nai “MidOne” Zheng, Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan, Danijal “yamich” Lazebnyy, and Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp (IGL). They are assisted by 24-year-old Remco “Crystallis” Arets, a stand-in from Tundra.

The Dota 2 MOUZ team enters spring 2026 ranked 9th in the world by Ensigame and 4th by Escorenews. DLTV places them 8th, while GosuGamers places them a mere 14th.

The leader is Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp, a 26-year-old Dutchman. Before joining MOUZ Dota 2, Seleri excelled in Gaimin Gladiators, winning multiple Majors and placing second at The International twice.

The MOUZ Esports Dota team is currently coached by Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza, who previously coached NGX, Gaimin Gladiators, and Team Tickles. From the latter, he joined the German Dota 2 MOUZ team after its rebirth in 2024.
