PaiN Gaming CS2 Team Review

paiN Gaming is a Brazilian esports team founded close to two decades ago. While the paiN CS2 roster was the sole focus when the team was launched, paiN was fast to expand to other games. The paiN gaming DOTA 2 roster marked the beginning of this expansion, followed by other titles including League of Legends, Clash Royale, Free Fire, and others.

Although not all rosters have been active in 2025, the team is considered one of the oldest and most respected esports teams in Brazil and Latin America. This top-down MelBet Pick’em review features all you need to know about the paiN CS2:GO lineup, history, legends, and upcoming match-ups to watch out for.

PaiN Gaming History

The team was founded in March 2010 by former professional DOTA 2 player, Arthur “PAADA” Zarzur. paiN Gaming was the first esports organization in Latin America to open a gaming house and launch the world’s first fan membership program, highlighting its innovative approach to esports and fan engagement.

paiN Gaming’s first notable appearance was at the IEM São Paulo League of Legends tournament in 2012, securing third place and then winning the Riot Season 3 Brazilian Championship in 2013. They also have an academy program to develop talent and have kept a competitive pace in their region and internationally.

Some of their most significant accomplishments are the victory at the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 and a qualification to the Elimination Stage at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. At the moment, the team seems to have streamlined their focus as only the PaiN gaming CSGO and the League of Legends roster have been active so far in 2025.

PaiN Gaming Founders

The team was founded in March 2010 by Arthur Curiati Zarzur. Although Arthur has played a crucial role in the creation of development of paiN Gaming, the CEO as of recent years is Thomas Amensi. Despite being around for over a decade, paiN’s administration is not as widely popular as the paiN CSGO rosters, and these names are the two faces of the team.

PaiN Gaming Initial Roster

The first full-time paiN CSGO team under the team’s banner was formed in early 2011 during the CS 1.6 era and was coached by bit. The first players known were members like cky, btt, and prd, who played in local events and helped cement the reputation of paiN in the emerging Brazilian CS community.

  1. Thiago “btt” Monteiro da Silva – Rifler
  2. Michał “cKy” Szustak – Rifler
  3. Guilherme “spacca” Spacca – AWPer
  4. Arthur “prd” Resende – Rifler

This first team was centered on the basics, teamplay, and strategy, which would later be the foundation of paiN Gaming’s success and evolution in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and later in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). Some of the initial paiN CS2 members went on to play in other teams or in other positions, which helped the Brazilian CS ecosystem as a whole.

PaiN Gaming Current Roster

Here’s a quick updated list of the paiN gaming CS2 roster as at this time.

  1. Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt (Brazil, 27 years old) – Rifler / In-Game Leader (IGL) – Joined on February 2, 2019
  2. Lucas “nqz” Soares (Brazil, 22 years old) – AWPer – Joined on November 11, 2023
  3. João “snow” Vinicius (Brazil, 20 years old) – Rifler – Joined on May 4, 2024
  4. David “dav1deuS” Maldonado (Chile, 21 years old) – Rifler – Joined on January 10, 2025
  5. Franco “dgt” Garcia (Uruguay, 24 years old) – Lurker – Joined on April 24, 2025
  6. Henrique “rikz” Waku – Coach – Joined on November 15, 2021

Streamlining their participation might not have been a bad idea for paiN gaming after all, and here’s why we think so.

First off, they recently competed in the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, competing strongly against tier-one teams like Virtus.pro and NAVI and reaching 8th. The team also finished between 5th and 8th place in several S-Tier events, including BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 and Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. Comparing these stats to their performance in the past two years, there’s a general trend of improvement and increasing stability at high levels of competition, especially in Counter-Strike, with a 72% winning rate.

PaiN Gaming Tournament Achievements

Despite competing regionally for years, the paiN Gaming CS2 division has made notable strides on the international CS2 stage recently. Here’s a brief of the most recent marks left by the paiN CS2 division on the Counter Strike scene.

  • BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 — S-tier Major; 3rd–4th place; $80,000
  • PGL Astana 2025 — S-tier; 12th–14th place; $9,375
  • BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 — A-tier; 7th–8th place; $10,000
  • IEM Melbourne 2025 — A-tier; 13th–16th place; $4,000

With a good mix of experience and local talent, as well as AWP support and coaching expertise, they should be able to go even further in the playoffs in various high-level tournaments, moving on.

PaiN Gaming Legends

The history of players at PaiN stretches back over years, leading us to two notable names we have to mention. First off in our PaiN hall of fame, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, short-time leader of the roster. The Brazilian’s leadership helped paiN qualify for PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and secure top spots in international qualifiers. Aside from the skill he came with, he also came with global visibility for the paiN CS2 team. As a two-time major champion, FalleN attracted sponsors and boosted fan engagement, effectively putting the team on the big stage.

Next up, Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt, current In Game Leader of the team. Since joining in 2020, biguzera has been paiN’s anchor, guiding the team to regional titles, ESL Pro League appearances, and multiple Major qualifications. The rifler has provided stability during a turbulent era on the Brazilian CS2 scene, developing young talent in the process.

PaiN Gaming Upcoming Tournaments

Their most recent showing was their match at the BLAST Bounty Fall 2025 Closed Qualifier, part of the BLAST circuit earlier this August. During this event, they notably defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas on August 7, 2025. paiN CS2 next match is confirmed to be at BLAST Open London 2025, stepping in as a replacement for Aurora Gaming. The event runs from August 25 to September 7, 2025, culminating in exciting LAN finals at Wembley Arena.

Further into the fall and winter season, while precise CS2 tournament schedules are still unfolding, paiN is expected to appear in multiple major events, including IEM stops, PGL tournaments, and additional BLAST Premier competitions.
