FURIA CS2 Team Review
Very few esports fans will not recognize the roaring black panther. This is the logo of FURIA Esport, one of the most famous esports organizations in South America. Today, FURIA has 6 different rosters for different games, including Rocket League and Valorant, but their main trump card is CS. Having started in 2017, the FURIA CS2 roster quickly established itself in the top echelon — and, it seems, is not going to give up its position to anyone. MelBet Pick’em review will tell you the secret of their success, and how the Brazilian black panther has managed to keep the entire CS scene in fear for so many years.
FURIA History
The history of FURIA starts in 2017. CS is the oldest discipline for this multidisciplinary team. In this game, they quickly achieved success — just 2 years after their foundation (not lightning fast, but faster than many other teams), in 2019, the FURIA CS GO roster already tried their hand at world S-tier tournaments.
Since 2021, the FURIA organization has been developing and expanding. It will also gather teams for League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, as well as several other games, and even try themselves in real offline football! Today, FURIA Esports is a global organization based in Brazil, with operations in the USA and Europe (Malta).
FURIA Founders
FURIA was founded in 2017, in Uberlandia, Brazil, in the south of the country, by three people: entrepreneurs Jaime Pádua and Cris Guedes, and professional poker player André Akkari. These same people are still managing the company, despite its great growth over the years and the emergence of many interested and involved people. The distribution of roles is not yet fully known, but it is presumably as follows:
- Jaime Pádua — СEO, co-owner;
- André Akkari — Executive Director, co-owner;
- Cris Guedes — President of the media club.
The creation of the FURIA CS core lineup was the first joint project of this trio in the eSports sector.
FURIA Initial Roster
So, the debut lineup of FURIA — 5 Brazilian eSportsmen, gathered together in 2017:
- Nicholas “guerri” Nogueira;
- Arthur “prd” Resende;
- Nicholas “guerri” Nogueira;
- Caike “caike” Costa;
- Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo.
They are responsible for FURIA’s baptism of fire as an organization. In 2017, the roster managed to participate in several local Brazilian C-Tier tournaments — 6 times they were one step away from their first victory, but took the “silver”.
As for any team, this FURIA CSGO roster will not exist for long — most of the participants will leave within a year. However, not VINI and guerri. VINI will spend more than 5 years with the team (2017 — 2022), still being one of the longest-serving participants in the entire history of FURIA. Guerri will quickly leave the roster — but only to take the coaching chair for the next 7 years. It is VINI and guerri who are responsible for FURIA’s first solid victories in A-Tier — Arctic Invitational 2019 and DreamHack Masters Spring 2020.
FURIA Current Roster
FURIA Esports is not a record holder for the number of transfers — over 8 years of history, only 23 different players have played for the team. As of August 2025, the FURIA CS2 roaster roster is as follows:
- Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo (since 2023) — FURIA IGL;
- Marek “YEKINDAR” Galinskis (since 2025) — Rifler;
- Danil “molodoy” Golubenko (since 2025) — AWPer;
- Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato (since 2018) — Rifler;
- Yuri “yuurih” Santos (since 2017) — Support.
Last year’s newcomers, YEKINDAR and molodoy, originally from Latvia and Kazakhstan, respectively, became the first non-Brazilian players in the team’s history (not counting the short participation of juniors from the USA in 2023). In turn, KSCERATO and yuurih have been, in fact, key players for FURIA throughout its history. In fact, these are members of not the first, but the second lineup in the team’s history — and they are still in the ranks, and their contracts have been renewed for the next two years.
The coaching chair, since the departure of old Nicholas “guerri” Nogueira for a promotion (he now holds one of the management roles in the club), is occupied by Sid “sidde” Macedo. In fact, having no experience as a top e-sportsman, he has been a professional coach for more than 5 years, having previously held the position of assistant coach in the Brazilian ODDIK.
So, what are the results of the current FURIA lineup? The team managed to reach the quarterfinals at the last major in Austin (at the previous one, in the autumn in Shanghai 2024, FURIA was eliminated at the last Stage), and also took 4th place at PGL Astana 2025 (S-tier) in May 2025.
FURIA Tournament Achievements
FURIA Esports took their main “gold” (and the only one in the S-Tier category) in 2020 — at ESL Pro League Season 12: North America, earning $77,000 in prize money. Other major achievements are:
- 2nd place at Esports Championship Series Season 7 — Finals, 2019 (S-tier, $100,000);
- 1st place at Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 (S-tier, $100,000);
- Quarterfinals at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 (S-tier, $70,000).
2022 was the time of FURIA CS2 best Major — at the Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major, losing to Heroic in the semi-finals and taking bronze with $80,000.
FURIA Legends
In addition to the aforementioned players of the current and starting lineups, we cannot fail to mention Andrey “arT” Piovesan — the legendary captain of CS2 FURIA roaster. He spent more than 6 years in the team, from 2018 to 2024, i.e., from the actual start to the peak time. ArT is the author of victories at ESL Pro League S 12: NA 2019, IEM New York 2020, DreamHack Masters Spring 2020, and Elisa Masters Espoo 2023, i.e., all 4 trophies of the FURIA CS2 team at the moment.
A comparable force is the current captain, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, a 34-year-old player with huge experience: he played in SK, MIBR, and Liquid, has 2 victories in majors, and many personal awards. The active phase of FalleN’s work in FURIA Esports is just beginning — his experience has already given the team a lot, but new big victories are still ahead.
Neymar FURIA CS2 Connection: From Football to Esports Support
It so happened that Neymar, the legendary Brazilian footballer who previously played for Barcelona, is a close friend of team co-founder Cris Guedes. It is thanks to this partnership that the FURIA Neymar cooperation is now jointly developing its football sports side project. However, in addition to his career, Neymar has also been a fan of CS since childhood — and therefore enjoys rooting for the team of his compatriots.
And his support is not limited to frequent presence in the stands: Neymar is a well-known collector of the rarest skins in CS (many of which are decorated with panther stickers). To ensure that these digital investments do not lie in vain, Neymar often passes them on to FURIA CS2 players for a more spectacular performance at tournaments. For example, at IEM Cologne 2024, yuurih could be seen holding Neymar’s AK-47 “Case Hardened” with a rare “Blue Gem” pattern.
FURIA Upcoming Tournaments
The team’s next appearance in the arena and FURIA next match is to be expected at the upcoming BLAST: Bounty 2025 S2 and Open London 2025 tournaments. They are also guaranteed to appear at FISSURE Playground 2. The first stage of the 22nd season of the ESL Pro League will also start at the end of September, and from there it is not far to the new boss among all tournaments CS2 — Budapest Major 2025.
