Shahar “flameZ” Shushan Overview

At the age of 16, Shahar Shushan decided to quit CS – tired of constantly living in the shadow of his older brother, a stronger Counter-Strike player who brought him into his then-team. Back then, no one could have known that just two years later, flameZ would be playing for the world’s top teams (yes, he didn’t quit – he did return to CS). This article from MelBet Pick’em will tell you all the stages of flameZ Vitality player rise – a modern-day Israeli CS2 star.

FlameZ Path to Esports

FlameZ was practically introduced to esports by his older brother, Shiran “shushan” Shushan. Six years his senior, Shiran played professionally as an AWPer for Israeli Tier 3 teams. Therefore, flameZ fell under the spell of esports at the age of 10 – that’s when he first started playing CS 1.6.

It was his brother who bought him a high-end gaming PC, which later allowed flameZ CS GO player, to advance through the FACEIT Pro League. For several years, the brothers played for the same rosters. However, today, Shahar has completely outgrown his mentor and has risen into the global top 10. Shiran, meanwhile, continues to play C-tier matches for amateur Israeli teams.

FlameZ Professional Career

flameZ’s first roster was his older brother’s team, the local Israeli team exDT. He joined at just 15 years old. This made it difficult for him to fully integrate into the team – due to his young age, Shahar was simply not allowed to participate in many matches.

After turning 16, “flameZ” transferred to the Israeli team Team Finest, and then to the European team Adaptation, again alongside his older brother, “shushan”. But in the summer of 2020, the brothers’ paths diverged for the first time – flameZ joined the British team Endpoint. Shahar himself recalls that this was incredibly important for him: for the first time in his career, he stepped out of his brother’s shadow, no longer perceived as an extension of Shiran. It was with Endpoint that he first reached the international level, participating in DreamHack Open Fall 2020 (his first A-tier finish).

In 2021, 17-year-old flameZ received an invitation to OG. He will play in it for more than 2 years – until 2023, and will also take part in his first major (Rio 2022).

FlameZ Current Team & Role

Shushan is an entry-fragger in Vitality. His style is hard entry, meaning he rushes in virtually blind, aggressively, and forcefully. This is exactly the type of player Vitality was looking for – as captain apEX put it, they needed “youth, speed, and a new impetus.” FlameZ plays with one of the highest entry-exchange rates in the world and is among the top 10 in first-time duel efficiency.

Having played for Vitality for over two years, Shushan has participated in three IEM victories (in 2024 and twice in 2025) and a victory at BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, where Vitality took home $500,000. In 2025, he and the rest of the five won the Austin Major, repeating the success of the summer of 23′, which preceded the arrival of flameZ CS2 player to the team.

FlameZ Records & Awards

Along with Spinx, a former Vitality member, flameZ CS2 player, is currently one of the strongest Counter-Strike players to emerge from Israel.

He has no HLTV MVP medals – he only narrowly missed out on a spot at IEM Cologne 2024, losing to ZywOo in the rating. However, in 2024, flameZ entered the world’s top 20 HLTV rankings for the first time, reaching 7th place.
