Sodbayar “Techno4K” Munkhbold Overview

Youngest yet mature beyond his years – that’s how you’d describe Sodbayar “Techno4K” Munkhbold, a 20-year-old professional CS2 player from Mongolia. Born on May 20, 2005, he’s already competed in six Major tournaments. Techno4K and his teammates have turned The MongolZ into a top-tier team in Asia and a contender for global dominance. In the new MelBet Pick’em overview, we’ve compiled a full account of the career and secrets to success of the “TMZ mum”, as his teammates jokingly call him.

Techno4k Path to Esports

Techno4k jokes that he would have become a champion earlier, but his computer was too weak as a child. The future Mongolian champion acquired a normal PC only in high school. However, Sodbayar didn’t waste his time – he played chess professionally (repeatedly reaching the top 5 nationally) and diligently studied, preparing for university entrance exams.

Sodbayar believes the main secret to success in any endeavor is self-control, time management, and quality rest, which helps relieve stress. He personally chooses fitness and his favorite music.

Techno4k Professional Career

Techno4K considers 2019 the start of his career. He was only 14 at the time. That was the year he met bLitz, took first place in the amateur team “Eye Finger,” and competed in his first major tournament—the local Mongolian MESA League Season 1. Of course, nothing significant happened back then, but it was then that Sodbayar realized his efforts were paying off and firmly decided he was capable of rising to the top.

The career paths of bLitz and Techno have much in common. They’ve played on the same teams their entire lives, and both are accomplished chess players. They began their professional CS:GO careers with amateur teams Eye Finger and Checkmate, and later, in 2022, were signed by the Mongolian club IHC Esports. Techno CS2 transfer took place in the fall of 2023, after they left IHC for The MongolZ.

Techno4k Current Team & Role

Techno4k MongolZ joining wasn’t a standalone move – he joined along with his old friend bLitz and their coach, maaRaa, in April 2023. Just two months later, mzinho and 910 also joined TMZ, so the club’s golden roster was assembled with virtually no experimentation or reshuffling.

Player’s primary function is explosive attacks. As an entry fragger, Sodbayar often sacrifices his own stats to perform important supporting roles for his team. However, his aggressive style isn’t uncontrollable, but rather a well-thought-out approach. Techno is an extremely stable player, and despite his young age, he is characterized by measuredness, rationality, and wisdom.

Munkhbold has contributed to all the major victories of TMZ’s ongoing golden era. Their achievements include gold at the Esports World Cup 2025 and Thunderpick World Championship 2024 ($500,000 in prize money each), as well as silver at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.

Techno4k Records & Awards

Following TMZ’s victory at the 2025 Esports World Cup, Sodbayar Munkhbold was named MVP by HLTV. He also ranks second in Mongolia in terms of prize money earned ($450,000+ in 2025, ranking him near 100th worldwide), behind only bLitz.

FAQ

MongolZ Techno real name is Sodbayar Munkhbold. He doesn’t reveal the origins of his nickname, “Techno4k.” Fans speculate that it was inspired by the nickname of blogger and gamer Technoblade.

As of 2025, Techno4k age is 20 years old. He was the team’s youngest player before the arrival of mzinho, who is two years younger.

Sodbayar “Techno4K” Munkhbold was born on May 20, 2005 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, where he still lives.

Techno4k MongolZ role is a riffler, traditionally playing as an entry fragger. However, over the past year, he’s increasingly been given more important challenges, like intense clutches, which he handles quite well.

Techno ranks second on the team in terms of career prize money earned, with estimates ranging from $480,000 to over $500,000.

Techno has been playing for The MongolZ since spring 2023. He and his current teammates formed the club’s golden roster, propelling it to the top tier globally.

Techno4k CS2 player’s first serious tag was Mongolian Checkmate. He joined the team in 2020 at the age of 15. However, a year earlier, he and bLitz had already played in C-Tier tournaments.
