Senzu From The MongolZ Named HLTV’s Player of the Month
Just recently, HLTV wrapped up the voting for June 2025’s top CS2 player — and in a neck-and-neck finish, Azbayar Senzu Munkhbold from The MongolZ came out on top with 44.8% of the vote. The margin was razor-thin, but Senzu ended up stealing the spotlight and becoming the name everyone’s talking about.
In this article, I’ll break down how Senzu earned that number one spot and what exactly he pulled off at the Austin Major 2025 that turned heads. We’ll also take a look at what might be next for him and The MongolZ in July — especially with IEM Cologne 2025 just around the corner.
Why Senzu Was Named HLTV’s Player of the Month for June 2025
At just 18 years old, Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold from Mongolia made serious waves on the CS2 scene after a standout run at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. His team, The MongolZ, pulled off a historic climb all the way to the grand final — and Senzu was at the heart of it. Match after match, he kept putting up big numbers. By the end of the event, his Rating 2.1 hit 1.29 — a metric used by HLTV that tracks consistency, impact, and performance relative to the global average (1.00). For a player from a region that rarely breaks into the spotlight, this was a huge moment.
The numbers speak for themselves. Across 14 maps and 313 rounds, Senzu racked up 255 kills, with an average of 0.81 per round. His K/D ratio sat at 1.35, and he dealt 84.9 damage per round (ADR) — strong, clean numbers. But it doesn’t stop there. His KAST — which reflects rounds where he got a kill, assist, survived, or was traded — was 77.3%, and his impact rating reached 1.34, which shows just how much he contributed in high-pressure moments like clutches and entry kills. And this wasn’t just farming weak teams. Against top-10 opponents, he still held a 1.30 rating. That says a lot.
Still, one match changed everything. Against G2 Esports, Senzu didn’t just help send his team into the playoffs — he broke a record that had stood since 2016. 56 kills on Dust2, beating NiKo’s long-standing mark. That performance blew up online, sparked debates, memes, and solidified Senzu as one of CS2’s brightest rising stars. For Mongolian Counter-Strike, it was a milestone. For Senzu, it was his moment — and a step straight into the global elite. No wonder he edged out names like ZywOo to take the crown as HLTV’s Player of the Month.

Who Took Second and Third Place in HLTV’s Rankings for June 2025
In second place in the HLTV rankings for June was none other than the French legend Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, representing Team Vitality. At 24 years old, ZywOo continues to show incredible form, finishing with a Rating 2.1 of 1.42, one of the highest performances of the month. His stats are impressive: 0.89 kills per round, K/D ratio of 1.63, 90.9 ADR, and 82.4% KAST, reflecting his phenomenal consistency. His results against top-tier opponents stand out in particular — 1.31 vs top-5 and 1.33 vs top-10. He received 44.1% of the votes on HLTV — the gap between him and first place was razor-thin. If Senzu hadn’t broken a 9-year-old record, ZywOo likely would have been named Player of the Month.
Third place in the HLTV rankings went to Robin “ropz” Kool, the 25-year-old rifler from Estonia, also playing for Vitality. His contribution to the team’s success is hard to overstate: 188 kills over 13 maps, 0.77 kills per round, K/D of 1.32, and a consistent Rating 2.1 of 1.23. ropz represents the perfect balance between reliability and impact: 81.3 ADR, 78% KAST, and impact rating of 1.24. Fans took notice — 6% of the vote, and a well-earned third place for June.

What Are the Stats of Other Players from The MongolZ Team?
I’ve already gone over the numbers for Senzu and two players from the Vitality team who made it into HLTV’s top 3. But it’s just as interesting to take a look at the The MongolZ stats as a whole and compare them. After all, reaching the final of a Major is a team achievement. Here’s a table with the key metrics that show how the other players performed at the recent Major:
When we look at the stats The MongolZ, it’s clear that Senzu is the standout across every category. Right behind him is 910, who also showed solid performance, especially in clutches and opening duels. bLitz delivered well in terms of damage and impact, although his K/D dropped slightly. mzinho and Techno had more modest numbers, but both handled their support roles reliably. Against CS2 teams from the top 10, this is a very respectable stat line — especially considering how young this roster is.

What to Expect from Senzu and The MongolZ in July 2025
After the top-4 at IEM Dallas 2025 and the final of BLAST.tv Austin Major, where they played Vitality 1:2, The MongolZ are no longer called underdogs. They became the first and youngest team from Asia and Mongolia to reach the final of a CS2 Major — and that alone is historic. Senzu was on fire, the team stayed composed, didn’t crumble under pressure. None of this feels like a fluke — these guys have reached a serious level.
In July, they’re heading into IEM Cologne 2025, and this could be another step forward. The MongolZ are a team people are now watching closely, and personally, as part of the MelBet Pick’em Challenge, I’ll be locking them in for every stage of the tournament without hesitation. After what they’ve shown, not picking them would just be foolish!
