Emil “Magisk” Reif Overview

Cold, meticulous, and taciturn — that’s the portrait of Emil Reif in real life. In-game, he’s quite different: Magisk CS player is aggressive, assertive, and a risk-taker. A player of supreme skill who has spent his entire career on top, all-star teams, his role was often overshadowed by his star teammates while he silently did the grunt work. MelBet Pick’em has compiled details about the Danish support’s 10-year career in a new review.

Magisk Path to Esports

Magisk CS2 player doesn’t like to talk much about himself. He was born in Aarhus, Denmark, the second-largest city in the country. We know he started playing CS around age 8, around 2006. This was the CS Source era, with Global Offensive still four years away. His parents didn’t put much pressure on their son’s passion, but he was torn between his studies and his passion for the game, unwilling to give up on either.

Sometimes he missed important esports events due to exams, while other times, on the contrary, he neglected preparation in favor of team practices. His focus on studies slightly delayed Magisk CS player’s growth, and he only began actively playing in tournaments towards the end of his education.

Magisk Professional Career

Like all old-school players, Magisk CSGO player, started out in amateur mixes. It’s unclear exactly when he began playing tournaments seriously. However, in 2015, at the age of 17, he was already actively participating in local Danish C-tier events, even winning his first prize money of several hundred dollars. His first teams were the tag team StfuNerd and the German club mTw.

In the fall of 2015, 17-year-old Emil was invited to join the European team SK Gaming, then one of the top 20 CS2 teams in the world. Thanks to this, Reif immediately encountered strong opponents and performed well. At his first S-tier tournament, Magisk’s team took third place.

The Dane was noticed and invited to join the then-top team, the American Team Dignitas. It was here that he achieved his first triumph – victory at EPICENTER 2016 (S-tier) and $250,000 in prize money. In 2017, Magisk played for the Danish club North (where he participated in his first Major), then for OpTic Gaming, until he finally joined Astralis in early 2018, at the age of 19.

Magisk Current Team & Role

Emil already knew some familiar faces at Astralis, a top-tier team at the time – he had met coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen early in his career at mTw. The new riffler quickly fit into the stellar roster, which was at its peak at the time. The following year, Magisk and the team took first place at the 2018 FACEIT Major, building on the previous year’s success.

Reif would play for Astralis for almost four years, winning two more Majors and numerous other tournaments. After the team’s disbandment in 2021, Magisk and his colleague dupreeh played together on Team Vitality (who won the 2023 Paris Major together) and Team Falcons. Three years after leaving, Magisk CS2 player briefly returned to Astralis, but the team was no longer the same. He left the team again in December 2025.

Magisk didn’t shine as brightly as Astralis’s central CS2 players. However, it’s safe to say that without his skill and hard work as a support riffler, the Danes wouldn’t have achieved many victories. Aggressive and risk-taking, he often took risks and traded to open the way for the stars. Magisk CFG is versatile and balanced: low sensitivity (eDPI 800) and standard zoom.

Magisk Records & Award

Magisk is second in the world for Major wins, with four, behind only dupreeh. He also holds two MVP medals, including one for IEM Katowice 2019. During his career, he spent 5 years in the world’s top 20 (the last time in 2023).

Magisk CS2 player, was born in the Risskov district of Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city after the capital.

Magisk Astralis team member is an extremely versatile riffler. He plays as a support, anchor, and riffler, also demonstrating good durability in clutches.

In 2025, Magisk’s team was once again Astralis. He left at the end of the year, becoming a free agent.
