He’s only played for one team in his entire life, barely making it into its youth organization just four years ago. It’s hard to believe we’re talking about a current global legend, one of the strongest active CS players – 18-year-old Danil “donk” Kryshkovets from Russia. Team Spirit‘s main force, this young player is currently at his peak, setting the pace for the entire Counter-Strike world. Donk Path to Esports
The world of esports opened up to Danil early. As often happens, it was his older brother who introduced him to computer games. Donk says he vividly remembers the first time he played CS:GO instead of 1.6 after his brother bought the game on Steam. The future talent was only 5 or 6 years old at the time.
Kryshkovets quickly became engrossed in the game, felt his progress, and began to gain skill. His parents weren’t too opposed — he managed to continue doing well in school. Tomsk is remembered for its local LAN tournaments, where donk CSGO player was always one of the younger players. But something else brought about his growth: Danil quickly gained rank in regional FaceIt leagues and entered the European FPL-C. This allowed him to begin his professional career.
Donk Professional Career
The donk CS player’s career is as short as his age. In fact, his CV only includes one professional team – Team Spirit. He was brought to the team’s youth roster by Aleksey “OverDrive” Biryukov, a Russian coach and scout. This was in 2021, when Danil had just turned 14.
His initial results weren’t impressive, due to both his young age and his inexperience. Kryshkovets said he’d been invited to other teams, but he wanted to join Team Spirit specifically because of the opportunity to learn from top pros. And he tried hard – although many things didn’t work out, as it wasn’t easy playing not against amateurs but against professional Tier-2 players.
In May 2023, at 16, Danil competed in his first A-tier tournament – BetBoom Playlist: Freedom. Just two months later, three players left the main TS roster, and a replacement was urgently needed. This is how donk ended up in one of the top teams in Eastern Europe.
Donk Current Team & Role
In fact, Team Spirit’s masters recognized Danil’s talent even while he was playing at the Academy. It was sh1ro who first noticed him, predicting a bright future for him back in 2022. Joining the roster in the summer of 2023, Donk and his club rose to the world top 5 within six months.
His career progressed incredibly rapidly: already on December 23, he won BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2023 (his first gold medal in A-tier!) and immediately received the MVP title. This was followed by victory at IEM Katowice 2024, another MVP title (he is the youngest ever to win a major title), and the immense love of the fans. HLTV called this game the best S-tier debut in the history of CS. But many more achievements lay ahead – his first Major, his first Major victory, and the MVP title. Within a year, the donk Spirit player had become the world’s number one star.
Riffler donk plays almost like an entry level player. He calls himself a “space creator.” He plays aggressively, assertively, and is extremely successful, boasting a record-high HLTV rating.
