Mihai “iM” Ivan Overview

Stable, cool-headed, disciplined — yes, these descriptions fit many top CS players. Our hero today isn’t a media star, but he’s still a key player. HHowever, he’s well-known in his home country, being one of the nation’s top esports players. We’re talking about Mihai “iM” Ivan, a Romanian riffler playing for NaVi. MelBet Pick’em new review will explore how he persistently and consistently built a career as a top player.

IM Path to Esports

Mihai was born in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, in 1999. He became interested in computer games early, at just 10 years old. However, it wasn’t a passion back then – he tried various games and didn’t have dreams of becoming an esports player. He says his entry into professional esports was smooth and natural: playing with friends in his free time, he reached the global elite rank and level 10 on FACEIT at 15 or 16 years old.

Mihai’s parents were receptive to their son’s passion: he had no problems with his studies, although he wasn’t a top student. And when iM CS player started playing in professional tournaments, his family became his most loyal support team.

IM Professional Career

Before reaching adulthood, iM CS player, played in amateur mixed-skill teams. One of his first challenges was qualifying for the ESL Southeast Europe Championship, which he entered in 2015, at the age of 16. Until 2021, Mihai played for Romanian teams: primarily for the top Romanian team Nexus Gaming, and occasionally for RedFear Esports. At the same time, iM was studying at a university in the capital and was unable to devote himself fully to the game.

In the spring of 2021, together with Nexus, 21-year-old Ivan played his first A-tier tournament, Snow Sweet Snow #3. The following month, he received an invitation to join the European club GamerLegion, then in the middle of Tier 2. With his new team, iM qualified for his first Major in Rio. Just a year later, he and GL performed brilliantly at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, defeating top CS2 teams such as fnatic, MOUZ, and Heroic. The team lost only to Team Vitality and earned a well-deserved silver medal. Mihai also took second place in the tournament based on individual statistics.

IM Current Team & Role

Following this success, iM received an invitation to join the renewed NaVi roster. Mihai later recalled that he couldn’t have imagined playing on the same team as s1mple and other pros, at the very least due to the language barrier. However, the new international squad solved this problem: at the same time as Ivan, Finn Aleksib, NaVi’s IGL, joined the team. The roster quickly coalesced, and just 10 months later, the new lineup achieved a feat, winning the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.

That same year, NaVi took gold at the 2024 Esports World Cup and at the 2024 Intel Extreme Masters Rio (where iM earned his first MVP medal). Despite this, in his first year, iM NaVi team member, faced the most criticism of all the CS2 players on the Ukrainian team.

IM CS2 player doesn’t boast superstar stats, but he’s highly reliable. He’s a reefer who consistently performs his duties. Most often, iM plays as an entry, supporting the star b1t and gathering information for the sniper W0nderful. IM cfg matches his role: eDPI is 920, one of the highest recorded stats in the scene.

IM Records & Award

In addition to his MVP medal at IEM Rio 2024, iM also earned the EVP title at IEM Cologne 2024 and even at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, while still playing for GamerLegion.

IM CS2 player has also been ranked in the top 20 players in the world by HLTV since 2024. He also holds national records – he is the first Romanian to win a CS Major and one of the most successful esports players from Romania overall.

FAQ

IM CS2 player full name is Mihai Ivan. It’s not hard to guess that his nickname is a combination of his initials — an idea he borrowed from JW, a former fnatic player.

Mihai Ivan was born on July 29, 1999. Today, iM age is 25 years. He is older than the team’s average age and second only to Aleksib.

Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, iM NaVi riffler began his career competing in Romanian and Balkan local leagues and tournaments.

IM NaVi member plays as an aggressive riffler and entry fragger. His HLTV stats are 75 in Opening and 62 in Entrying.

Over the years of his career, the iM CS2 player has earned a significant amount of money, but he’s nowhere near the level of b1t and Aleksib. His prize money is approximately $650,000.

In 2023, after a strong performance at the Paris Major, iM was invited to join NaVi’s revamped roster. The core of the roster assembled at that time still plays for the Ukrainian club.

Mihai Ivan started playing in 2010, back in the days of CS 1.6. He played his first tournament in 2015, but only qualified for an A-tier event in 2021, at the age of 21, as a member of the Romanian team Nexus Gaming.
