Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov Overview
A bright young star from Russia, aspiring to become a world champion, is Ilya Osipov, aka m0NESY. Ilya was born in 2005 in a suburb of Moscow. Like many other stars of his generation, he didn’t switch between dozens of amateur teams on his way to success, but rather grew up on academy rosters and competitive match platforms like FACEIT.
Having established himself as a top player in G2, Osipov now plays for Team Falcons. A new MelBet Pick’em review will show how he single-handedly makes his team one of the main threats on the scene.
M0NESY Path to Esports
Before battling online opponents, little Ilya first had to win a battle for a place at the keyboard. Like many other esports athletes, he was introduced to Counter-Strike by his older brother when he was four years old. However, he didn’t have to contend with his older brother for long – m0NESY CSGO fan’s parents were liberal and not particularly opposed to computer games. So, at just nine years old, Osipov received his own gaming laptop.
The future pro’s skills grew at record speed: at ten, he achieved the Global Elite title, and by twelve, he reached level 10, the maximum level on FaceIt. His parents supported him in this area as well, approving of his son’s desire to develop into a professional esports player. He would later receive special treatment at school, allowing him to participate in tournaments.
M0NESY Professional Career
M0NESY CS player played his first professional matches in 2019, in the amateur mix of NewBalls. The young Russian’s talent was quickly spotted by scouts. In 2020, at the age of 15, he was invited to join the youth team of the legendary Ukrainian club NaVi, NaVi Junior. His skill outpaced his age: m0NESY was simply not fit to participate in most tournaments due to his youth. However, the team’s coaches recognized Ivan’s potential and strove to provide him with the maximum opportunity to develop.
In 2021, Ivan and Navi Junior competed in major global tournaments for the first time, the Elisa Invitational Summer 2021 and Pinnacle Cup II (A-tier). His performance was record-breaking, and it was clear he had outgrown the junior roster. In 2022, G2 bought his contract for a significant sum. The Russian had to adapt to working with foreign players, but it was worth it. m0NESY would play for the European club for over three years, participating in four Majors, winning three Intel Extreme Masters tournaments, and the BLAST Premier: World Final 2024.
M0NESY Current Team & Role
In April 2025, m0NESY CS2 player moved to Team Falcons. Ironically, his last match for G2 was the PGL Bucharest 2025 final, where the team lost to Team Falcons. Degster, the TF sniper, was named the tournament MVP, but that didn’t stop the Saudi Arabian club’s management from kicking him out to make room for the Russian AWPer.
Fans condemned the club for this decision, although it’s difficult to underestimate Osipov’s value. His stats are off the charts: 95/100 Firepower, 90/100 Clutching. In the team, m0NESY CS2 player is the main driving force, protected at all costs. With his AWP, he often plays as an aggressive opener.
Thanks to his incredible success, m0NESY CFG is one of the most popular teams to copy. Its eDPI (800) is in the lower mid-range – typical for snipers who always need high accuracy.
Together with m0NESY CS2 player, the team managed to take 3rd place at the Esports World Cup 2025, as well as participate in the Budapest Major 2025.
M0NESY Records & Award
Osipov received two “Rookie of the Year 2022” titles, both from HLTV and Esports Awards. He also earned six MVP medals (the last one at BLAST Rivals Fall 2025). In 2024, m0NESY Falcons player ranked second in the world, behind only donk.
