Ivan “zweih” Gogin Overview

“A year ago, I watched Team Spirit’s match [at IEM Cologne 2024] and thought, ‘I want to play here.’ And now, the dream has come true.” This is how new Team Spirit player Ivan “zweih” Gogin shared his impressions with reporters after his first match.

Ivan is the youngest member of the Russian CS2 team, having just recently turned 18 in the fall of 2025. During his short career, he also managed to play for the Belarusian team Nemiga, where he also demonstrated high skill. Read about this old friend of donk‘s journey to his dream team in the new MelBet Pick’em player review.

Zweih Path to Esports

A rare story in esports: Ivan’s parents appreciated and supported their son’s desire to pursue esports. While there were initial doubts, Ivan’s father took the time to personally understand the balance of power in the esports arena. When Gogin, at 17, landed a contract with his first professional team, he was even allowed to drop out of 10th grade without completing his high school education.

Family and friends describe zweih CS player as an extremely determined young man. Growing up in St. Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city, he previously practiced swimming and taekwondo, both with considerable success. Ultimately, however, he chose Counter-Strike.

Zweih Professional Career

Compared to his colleagues, Ivan got into the game quite late – he was over 12 years old when he discovered CS. His first foray into the scene was through the academy roster of the local team HOTU, then the rosters of VaselineWorms and POLET.

However, the secret to his rise to the top lies elsewhere. FaceIT helped Ivan hone his skills, and not just his skills: there, he also made a friend, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, his peer. However, their paths differed: unlike donk, zweih was not accepted into Team Spirit Academy. He also applied to Cybershoke and Gun5 (with the help of scout Aleksey “OverDrive” Biryukov, who had previously placed donk in TSA), but was also rejected, and he himself turned down a place at the VirtusPro and ForZe academies.

Ultimately, Gogin was able to reach an agreement with the manager of the number one team from Belarus, Nemiga. He played there for more than a year, from the summer of 2024 to the summer of 2025.

Zweih Current Team & Role

With the Belarusian team, zweih CS player made his debut at the international level – the squad won the 2024 RES Regional Champions (A-tier), taking home $150,000 in prize money, and even participated in the 2025 Austin Major, where 17-year-old Ivan became the youngest. In July 2025, he finally joined Team Spirit, the team he had wanted to qualify for back in 2021.

In the lineup, Gogin replaced Boris “magixx” Vorobyev, a team veteran who had been playing since 2019. As a result, he actively completes entry missions (Entrying 64/100 according to HLTV), although his primary role is as an anchor lurker. He plays more aggressively than Magixx and is less inclined to support – however, given the power of donk, he is quite capable of fulfilling his role as a second-lane riffler.

Zweih CS2 player himself said that, besides TS, he received other contract offers, even with higher salaries, but he chose Spirit as his dream team. He admits to being proud of his team’s incredible strength, although he tends to take a sober view of his teammates, noting each of their weaknesses. For example, he said he believes the team is experiencing some difficulties with mechanics. However, his personal zweih CFG profile is not disclosed, so it is impossible to know the specifics of Ivan’s “workstation.”

Together with the new squad, zweih Spirit player played at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025 (S-tier), where TS took first place, and also participated in StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, where the Russian unit received bronze.
